Innovative LASER Glass Welding

Gaayathri Innovative Technologies developed an advanced technique that uses a focused laser beam for joining glass pieces together without the need for traditional welding methods like heat or pressure from external sources.
This process is ideal for applications that require high precision, minimal thermal impact, and the ability to handle delicate or thin materials.

GIT’s Welding Technology ensures high process robustness and enables welding speeds of up to 100 mm/s, significantly increasing manufacturing efficiency. The widened weld seams result in higher bonding strength, while the process exhibits a low sensitivity to surface irregularities, ensuring reliable and consistent weld quality.

- Features:
  • Precision:   Laser welding allows for a high degree of control and precision in the welding process, especially in small or intricate applications.
  • Minimal thermal impact: Unlike traditional welding methods, laser welding minimizes the surrounding thermal effects, reducing the risk of glass distortion or thermal stresses.
  • No need for filler material: Unlike traditional welding, laser welding can often be done without filler materials, resulting in a cleaner process.
  • Versatility:   It can be used for a wide variety of glass types, including both transparent and opaque glasses.

Our
Capabilities

Welding and cutting will be performed on several types of glass: soda-lime glass (applications in construction, architecture, flat panel display production and consumer electronics), borosilicate glass (applications in optics and photonics) and sapphire (applications in opto-electronics and watchmaking).
